Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
When you type a name, a warrant number, or a date of birth into a search tool on this site, that entry travels to the outside provider that runs the search, not to us. The provider processes it and sends back whatever it finds. We do not keep or log the terms you type.
Messages and Contact Submissions
If you write to us, we hold on to the message long enough to answer it. Messages stay with our own team. We do not pass them to anyone outside the organization unless a legal obligation forces us to.
Data We Gather Automatically
Each time a page here loads, the servers behind it record a few technical details about the visit:
- The type of device you are using and its operating system
- The IP address your device was assigned
- Which browser and browser version you used
- Which pages you opened and how long each one stayed on screen
- The site that referred you here, when there was one
- A timestamp for every page view
Cookies and Analytics
This site uses cookies, which are small files saved on your device. They show us which pages draw traffic and where readers tend to leave. Analytics services help us group that information into traffic totals. You can block cookies in your browser settings at any time, though some parts of the site may act differently if you do.
What We Do With This Data
The information above serves a short list of purposes:
- Sending a search request to the partner service that handles it
- Keeping pages loading and the site running
- Spotting which pages are useful and which need work
- Finding and fixing technical problems
- Showing advertising that may relate to your interests
No Warrant Data on File
This site does not host, compile, or sell any database of warrants or warrant records. We publish general guidance about where Anne Arundel County warrant records are held and how to check them: the Sheriff's Office warrant unit, the Circuit and District Court clerks, and Maryland Case Search. Maryland has no single public statewide warrant lookup, and this site is not a substitute for one. We are not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and nothing we collect from visitors is assembled into consumer reports or files about other people.
Third-Party Search Partners
Search boxes here are operated by outside companies. Whatever you enter into one of those tools is handled under that company's privacy policy rather than this one. Those partners decide how long they keep data and who they share it with, and we have no say in either. Read the partner's policy before you submit a search.
Links to Other Websites
Pages on this site link out to the Sheriff's Office warrants page, Maryland Case Search, court directory pages, and outside search tools. Following one of those links takes you off this site, and the destination's privacy policy takes over from there. Read it before you hand over any personal details.
Some advertising partners track activity across websites in order to target ads. That tracking happens on their systems, not ours.
Who Might See Your Data
We do not sell personal data. A limited set of information may reach the following:
- Analytics providers that measure traffic and performance
- Search partners that process the queries you run here
- Ad networks that serve advertising on our pages
- A government body or law enforcement office responding to a valid legal order
How We Protect Your Data
We follow standard security practices for the information we hold. No internet-connected system is untouchable, though. We do what we reasonably can, and we cannot promise that a breach will never happen.
Users Under 18
This site is built for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has sent us information, tell us and we will remove it promptly.
Your Data Rights
Records held by Maryland agencies fall under the Maryland Public Information Act, General Provisions Article, §4-101 et seq., which sets the rules for inspecting public records under §4-201. That law applies to government agencies, and this site is not one, but it shapes how warrant and court records work in Anne Arundel County. For information in our own hands, you can:
- Ask for a copy of what we hold about you
- Have incorrect information corrected
- Ask us to delete your data
- Opt out of certain kinds of processing
Updates to This Policy
We may revise this privacy policy in the future. When that happens, the new version replaces this one on the same page and carries a new effective date. Come back if you want to see how our handling of visitor information changes over time.
