Anne Arundel County Warrant Records Anne Arundel County Warrant Records

Anne Arundel County warrant records sit with more than one office. The Sheriff's Office serves court orders of arrest and answers status questions. The clerk of the issuing court keeps the case file itself. District Court holds most traffic and lower-level criminal matters, while Circuit Court handles the more serious cases at the courthouse in Annapolis. The state's court docket system adds another view on top of that. That split explains why one search can come back empty while a real warrant is still standing. Getting to the right desk matters. This site gathers those starting points in one place so a reader can check their own status or help a relative without guessing which office to call first.

Why We Built This Site

Maryland opens a good deal of court information to the public. Maryland Case Search returns docket summaries, and the Maryland Public Information Act covers records held by county agencies. The hard part is not access. The hard part is knowing which office holds the piece you need.

The Sheriff's Office describes itself as the county's primary clearinghouse for court orders of arrest. Its warrant unit serves arrest warrants, bench warrants, body attachments, fugitive warrants, grand jury indictments, and juvenile detention orders, and it works alongside county police, Annapolis police, and Maryland State Police. The warrant itself still comes from a court. Circuit and District Court judges issue them, and a District Court commissioner can issue qualifying arrest warrants. A status question and a case-file question therefore land in two different places, sometimes on two different days.

Maryland also has no single public statewide warrant lookup. Case Search is a court-case tool, not a warrant database, and it leaves out sealed, juvenile, expunged, and shielded records. Put those pieces together and it is easy to check one office, find nothing, and draw the wrong conclusion. We collected the addresses, phone numbers, portals, and request steps for the offices that actually hold Anne Arundel County warrant records so a reader can start in the right spot instead of working through every agency one at a time.

What You Will Find Here

Each section covers one part of the county warrant process, with the office that handles it named directly:

  • Warrant lookups: how to run a warrant check by name, warrant number, or case number through the sheriff and the courts
  • Outstanding warrants: how the sheriff's published active warrant list is built and what an "active" status does and does not mean
  • Missed court dates: how bench warrants arise in District and Circuit Court and which office holds them
  • Charge-based warrants: how arrest warrants are issued on probable cause and served in Anne Arundel County
  • Traffic cases: how a missed traffic date becomes a traffic warrant or a license consequence
  • City-level questions: how city court warrants fit into a county system that has no municipal court tier
  • Published lists: what the county most wanted and lookout channels are for, and how to pass along a tip

Two city pages cover the county's incorporated places in more detail, one for Annapolis and one for Highland Beach. Both route the reader back up to the sheriff and the courts for anything that has to be confirmed by an official office.

What We Cannot Do

This is a privately run reference site. We have no connection to any Maryland court, the Sheriff's Office, or any other state or county agency, and there are firm limits on what we can help with:

  • We cannot run an official warrant check or confirm that a warrant exists for any person
  • We cannot recall, quash, satisfy, or remove a warrant from any system
  • We cannot post bond or take a payment toward a warrant
  • We cannot arrange a surrender, set a court date, or schedule a walk-through
  • We cannot give legal advice or say how a warrant applies to a particular case
  • We cannot promise that every address, phone number, or fee on this site is current today

Only the court that issued the warrant or the Sheriff's Office unit that holds it can confirm whether the warrant is still active and whether it has been recalled or satisfied. We can point you to the right office, but the answer has to come from that office.

Search Partners

Some pages here carry a search box run by an outside company. Those companies set their own prices, keep their own data, and decide what their results show. If one of those tools leads you to a paid signup, we may earn a referral fee, and that revenue is what keeps the site free to read. We do not control their pricing or their output, and nothing they return is an official warrant check. For a real answer, use the sheriff's list, Maryland Case Search, or the clerk's office for the court that issued the warrant.
